Rebuilding a grand piano can be quite rewarding. These magnificent instruments can be restored to original condition for les than half of what a comparable new instrument might cost. The Piano Boutique takes pride in preserving these pianos for years to come.
A complete re-building includes new strings and tuning pins. We also make needed repairs to the soundboard and bridges. If necessary we can replace the pin block if it is beyond repair.
We also replace action parts including: hammers, dampers wippens, keyboard felts and key bushings that match the original design. Then we regulate to the manufacture specifications, tune and voice the piano.
Original decals are replaced and the piano is refinished to suit. Finishes can be satin or high gloss. The Piano Boutique uses 23 percent rosin lacquer, just like when the piano was made originally.
One service that we offer is the ability to replace key tops with real ivory. This product is very sparse and is made available to only the finest pianos. Ebony sharps can be replaced that match the original measurements.
